Quiz: Kiras Most Important Posession

Quiz Friday! Here is Kira doing daily chores. During long term journey we attach to some things: Tulku can’t live without her toy-rat, Sven can’t live without his phone. Some of us attach to weird things… Question: What is Kira’s most important possession (beside her passport):
A her diary
B her handkerchief
C her plastic cup
Write your guess in the comments. The winner will get a personal kilometer as well as a place in our Hall of Fame (http://on.fb.me/1JAdFTC). The quiz ends on Monday (00:00 GMT). The winner will be announced on Tuesday. The winner will be drawn at random from all the correct entries.

Personal Football Field for the Night

S: I’ve rented a football field for us.
K: Huh?!
S: A football field. For tonight. To sleep on in our tent. It has roof and everything!
Everytime we arrive to a new, tiny and off-beaten-track village Sven goes on a quest to find a place for us to sleep. We are quite picky, so said place needs to be safe, dog friendly, shower-from-the-bottle-naked friendly, outdoor cooking friendly and also needs to fit local weather. At the moment there is rainy season here in Costa Rica, so every afternoon there is a heavy tropical rain. So we always look for a place with a roof for pitching our tent. I don’t think that we can top this roof though!

Quiz: As Planned

Quiz Friday! Obstacles, struggling and things that don’t go as planned – these are the things that happen to our team more often than we wish they would. So far we cycled 11500 kilometers. We divided them into 23 streches, with roughly 500 km each. Some of those segments were very smooth and successful – the things ran just the way we planned. And then things went awry (wrong), as usual. Question: How many successful segments did we have in total? Hint 1: These streches were not in a row. Hint 2: There were more unsuccessful segments than successful. Write your guess in the comments.
The winner will get a personal kilometer as well as a place in our Hall of Fame (http://on.fb.me/1JAdFTC). The quiz ends on Monday (00:00 GMT). The winner will be announced on Tuesday (we hope). The winner will be drawn at random from all the correct entries.

Panama is done!

Good news: we are in Costa Rica! Bad news: Panama charged us 300usd for leaving the country*. Good news: new time zone! Bad news: we will have to wake up at 3:30am instead of our usual 4:30am. Good news: new currency! Bad news: cash mashines are not giving us our cash…

*300usd?! Why, you ask? Glad that you asked! When we entered Panama in Portobelo, the migration office workers put wrong stamps into our passports. We asked about this other migration office workers in Panama City and they couldn’t help us. So naturally, when we were leaving Panama, the migration office workers said: ‘Aha! Wrong stamp! Here is your fine!’ and were deaf to our pleas. Did you already hear, that we don’t like Panama? In case you missed it – we really hate Panama!
