3 days left for the campaign

Only 3 days left until the end of our crowdfunding campaign!
Today we added a new perk: a hard-earned kilometer! In the photo below, you can find an example of hard-earned kilometer as well as Sven trying his best to look happy nevertheless!
We’ve noticed that we give all the nice kilometers to you guys and leave all the boring kilometers to ourselves. But there are some very rare and very special kilometers that leave us laying on the ground, gasping for air. We have to cycle very hard for them and we don’t want them to fall into the pile of boring kilometers. So from now on, you can also choose a hard-earned kilometer here: http://www.igg.me/at/boundlessbiking/x/9091535

bucket list

Let’s make a bucket list! If you had a chance to travel the Panamerican Highway, what would be the first thing on your bucket list? Let your creativity go wild – we will do our best to fulfill your list! Just please no ‘flying to the moon’ or ‘climbing snowy peeks in Guatemala’ – stay a bit realistic. Sven’s dad gave us his challenge: to cross the hanging bridge. So last week we did. What’s next? You tell!

10000 Kilometers

10000km!!! We just cycled 10000km!!! Did you hear it? We just cycled 10000km!!! It’s a big milestone for us, we were waiting for it for very very long time. And today – we did it! We dedicate this kilometer for Sven’s (little) brother Martin. He misses Sven deeply, even though he never says it out loud. This one is for you, Martin! After we started the trip Martin decided to stop trimming his beard until we come back. That’s for nearly 3 years! As Martin doesn’t use facebook, somebody who sees him at home – please show him this. Oh by the way, did I mention that we cycled 10000km already?

How can one Kilometer change anything

“But it’s just one kilometer, how can it change anything?”. Not all kilometers are the same: some we fly with tailwind and roll without much effort and some we push step after step, steep uphill to the summit. There was this one day during our journey when we tiptoed for 10 hours in order to move 3 km forwards – the headwind was so strong. So yes, one kilometer can change everything! Help us cycle one more kilometer here: http://igg.me/at/boundlessbiking/x/9091535

Motivation

“Why do you do it anyway? Why have you left your happy life, packed a bag and started cycling to Alaska?”. We get asked this a lot. We also ask this ourselves a lot, especially when pushing the bike uphill for days. So, why do we? One day Kira was looking for other means of traveling online and found a family of four (mom, dad and 10-year-old twins) who cycled the Panamerican Highway all the way from north to south. Kira was so inspired that she bought a bicycle and started touring in the same summer. Previously she haven’t even touched a bike for more than 10 years! Nevertheless, 2 years later she started her own Panamerican journey. What about Sven? He was searching for more adventures and for some time out of his routine. Lately, on the uphill parts, he mainly thinks about going down as fast as he can though…
